Business Development Executive – Arts & Entertainment Industry

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development & Growth
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including corporate partnerships, sponsorships, and funding opportunities to enhance revenue streams.
    • Develop and implement strategies to attract new audiences, increase ticket sales, and expand outreach efforts.
    • Research industry trends, competitor offerings, and emerging market opportunities to identify potential areas for growth.
    • Foster relationships with local businesses, schools, and community organizations to promote the theatre’s offerings and services.
  • Sales & Partnership Management
    • Cultivate and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including corporate sponsors, donors, arts organizations, and influencers.
    • Negotiate and close deals for event sponsorships, group bookings, and private events at the theatre.
    • Collaborate with the marketing and programming teams to design tailored sales strategies for different target segments.
    • Act as the primary liaison between the theatre and external partners, ensuring a smooth and mutually beneficial collaboration.
  • Event & Program Promotion
    • Work closely with the marketing team to support the promotion of performances, events, and special programming.
    • Assist in the creation of compelling sales materials and promotional content for targeted outreach initiatives.
    • Coordinate outreach efforts for specific shows, productions, or seasons to maximize sales and engagement.
  • Reporting & Analysis
    • Track and report on the effectiveness of business development strategies, including sales performance, partnership growth, and audience engagement.
    • Analyze key performance metrics and provide recommendations for improvement based on data insights.
    • Maintain accurate records of leads, contracts, and business development activities.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or relationship management, preferably within the arts, entertainment, or cultural industries.
  • Strong understanding of the theatre industry, including audience development, sponsorship, and event planning.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively to drive growth and exceed targets.
  • A network of industry contacts (corporate, philanthropic, or government) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft offce, and other business tools.
  • A passion for the arts, theatre, and live performances.
  • Proficiency in English & Mandarin, spoken and written.
