Assistant Marketing Manager

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading the Marketing Team (under the direction of the Executive Director and Company Manager) in creating and executing effective marketing plans that drive the achievement of Gateway’s business objectives, as part of a long-term marketing strategy.
  • Responsible for developing the yearly marketing plan and budget, executing all marketing actions in plan, and conducting a weekly marketing meeting to present a weekly report.
    • Developing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Gateway’s products and/or services to communicate and promote them to prospective markets and/or audiences effectively.
    • Proactively identifying, developing, and implementing effective marketing plans to reach out to new markets and/or audiences.
  • Responsible for Gateway’s products and/or services branding and event activation through marketing communications, media relations, advertising and promotions, direct marketing, and events management to increase brand awareness, generate publicity, and maximise attendance and revenue.
    • Increasing sales through online brand exposure and marketing.
    • Responsible for the development and production of all marketing, communications, promotional, and publicity materials such as advertisements, brochures, flyers, posters, banners, newsletters, EDMs, e-banners, etc.
    • Responsible for managing Gateway’s website and social channels and growing online community including (but not limited to) planning and executing monthly content calendar and social media campaigns, tracking and reporting campaign analytics, making recommendations for improvement.
    • Writing and delivering persuasive copy for Gateway’s website, social media, email marketing campaigns, sales and marketing collaterals, and marketing communications materials.
    • Working in tandem with PR Agency/Team in developing the yearly public relations plan and budget, executing all public relations actions in plan, providing information and materials for drafting media releases to disseminate online for local/regional media coverage opportunity to increase brand exposure.
    • Working in collaboration with PR Agency/Team, marketing/PR partners, and local popular websites/online magazines to run online campaigns and advertising.
    • Responsible for growing, managing, and reporting of Gateway’s database.
    • Performing market research and competitor monitoring to keep up-to-date of market trends, the programmes and approach of key competitors.
    • Developing and conducting market research and surveys with patrons, prepare findings and analysis reports, make recommendations for improvement.
    • Tracking, managing, and reporting of the marketing budget for Gateway’s programmes and collaborations.
    • Supporting the Business Development Team in the implementation and execution of marketing and communications for fundraising initiatives.
    • Maintaining consistent communication with partners and sponsors to ensure timely acknowledgements and updates through email, newsletters, and annual reports, etc.
    • Forging new collaborations and partnerships that enhance partner and sponsor experiences and building relationships for marketing and/or fundraising opportunities.
    • In-charge of project management, frontline communications, content creation, event planning, and implementation for marketing activities.


  • Degree/Diploma in Marketing/Mass Communications or related discipline
  • At least 5 years of experience in Marketing/Marketing Communications of arts, cultural, or lifestyle products/services/events
  • Exceptional multitasking skills
  • Excellent digital marketing and marketing communications skills
  • Experienced and skilled digital content producer
  • Ability to write quality, engaging, interesting content that provides value to the audience
  • A team player with good interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Creative, meticulous, and proactive individual with positive mindset and can-do attitude
  • Challenge-driven and goal-oriented individual
  • Excellent time management with strong ability to organise, prioritise, and manage multiple duties and assignments
  • Able to effectively adapt to changes and to work independently
  • Proficient in spoken and written English with strong writing and proofreading skills
  • Good knowledge of Singapore’s arts scene will be an added advantage
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office application
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop will be an advantage
  • Flexibility with regards to working days and hours (able to work on weekends, eve of Public Holidays, and Public Holidays, if necessary)
